CINNABON?? TRY THIS......


Dough

1/4 oz. dry yeast
1 c. whole milk (110 degrees
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/3 c. unsalted butter (softened)
1 tsp. salt
2 large eggs
3-1/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. bread flour

Filling

1 c. light brown sugar
3 tbsp. ground cinnamon
1/3 c. unsalted butter (melted)

Icing

2/3 c. unsalted butter (melted)
4 c. powdered sugar
2 tsp. clear vanilla extract
4 tbsp. hot water (more as needed)

1. In a large mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast into the warm milk

2. Add sugar, butter, salt, eggs, and flour.  Mix well.

3. Lightly dust the countertop and your hand with flour.  Knead the dough into a large ball

4. Place dough into a lightly greased bowl and cover with a tea towel, place in a warm area to let dough rise to double in size (about one hour

5. Using a floured rolling pin, roll the dough out (on lightly floured countertop) 
   making it approximately 20” long, 16”wide, and 1/4” thick

                -Let dough rest for a moment to make the filling-

6. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon

7. Baste the melted butter completely over the surface of the dough.

8. Spread the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture over buttered dough, leaving a   1” border around the edges

9. Carefully roll the dough into a tight roll

1o. Trim the ends to make a flat edge on both sides, then cut the roll into 12 equal  
    pieces

11. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and cover with a tea towel. 
   Let the buns rise for approximately one hour

12. Bake for 12-15 minutes (until golden brown) on center rack at 400 degrees

         -While baking, prepare the icing-

13. In a small mixing bowl, combine melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla
   using a whisk.

14. Add hot tap water 1 tbsp. at a time to thin out to desired consistency.

15. When buns are finished baking, immediately glaze with the icing and serve!
